Engaging adolescents in conversation at developmentally appropriate levels can be a challenge for adults. Speaking to adolescents about substance use disorder can be even more daunting. This event engages providers in recognizing the barriers that negate effective conversations with adolescents about their behavioral health and how to overcome them. Via a reflection on best practices, evidenced based techniques, and scripts and tips, providers will be empowered to reflect on and revamp their communication strategies with adolescents who are at risk for substance use disorder or are already affected.
