Our Work

MACC helps organizations, leaders, and community members understand the backgrounds, languages, and unique needs of the people they serve.

This way, everyone can access care that actually works for them.

For Organizations

We partner with you to create a more inclusive and effective environment, whether you run a hospital, school, government agency, or business.

Customized Trainings

These training sessions—virtual or in-person—are tailored to your team’s specific needs. We’ll help your staff understand different cultural backgrounds, communicate across language barriers, and provide care that respects each person’s unique identity and values.

Our trainings cover culturally responsive care, substance use disorder, trauma-informed approaches, youth and senior concerns, burnout prevention, and more.

When your team feels more confident serving diverse communities, the people you serve will experience better and more respectful care. You’ll be able to meet cultural competency standards, reduce misunderstandings, and create better outcomes for everyone.

Cultural Climate Audits

MACC works directly with your leadership to take an honest look at how things are working now. We review your policies, practices, and day-to-day environment. We help you spot gaps or barriers that are hard to see from the inside. This process stays confidential.

You’ll leave with a roadmap of what to change, and how to change it, to serve everyone who walks through your doors.

For Communities

MACC brings community members and leadership together to help you address the challenges you’re facing, and build solutions.

Community Conversations & Summits

These are safe spaces where you and your community can get the real work done. These aren’t one-way lectures. They’re welcoming environments where you can discuss real challenges, share resources that actually help, and build strategies together.

You’ll leave with practical tools, support resources, and a clearer path forward for your own and your community’s well-being.

Initiatives

  • Ohio Navigator: A statewide program we’re building with the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services that helps people connect to mental health and addiction care more easily. We help Navigators clarify their roles, do their jobs more easily. This work helps everyone get help quickly, no matter their background.
  • The Right Conversation: Helping families and supporters talk about mental health and substance use without shame or judgment. We share simple, practical guidance on when to start the conversation, what to say (and what not to say), how to really listen, and how to help someone find the resources and support they need.
  • The Right Dose: Helping older adults and their families prevent accidental overdoses from prescription medications. We provide practical education on safe medication use, storage, and disposal, how to recognize warning signs, and where to find support and prevention resources.
  • Mental Health First Aid: Training that teaches everyday people how to recognize when someone is struggling with mental health or substance use, how to offer support in the moment, and how to connect them with professional help and community resources.
